Many of the original features still remain, including the ground floor Delobole slate floors and the external mounting block. Trehellas is a family-owned country house with real warmth and character, close to all that the county has to offer. The original courtroom, dating back to the 1700's, is a spectacular bedroom (loved by honeymooners). The beamed, romantic, candlelit restaurant with its Delabole slate flag floor offers the very best of locally sourced meats, fish, fruit, vegetables and delicious Cornish cheeses. We are very proud that the standard of our classical cooking has helped us achieve an AA rosette in 2007. The restaurant was Michelin recommended in 2007.

The property has royal connections, having been purchased by Prince Chula of Siam in 1945. He was the legal guardian of Prince Bira, a famous motor racing champion of the 1930's and 1940's. The house is recommended by Johansens hotel guide and has been featured in the Guardian newspaper as a great place to stay (April 2005).
