The inn has a charming old world bar with exposed beams, an open fireplace and horse brasses with a drinking area at the upper end and informal dining at the lower end. A low-beamed non-smoking restaurant offers a table d'hote menu and blackboard daily specials. 7 en-suite bedrooms with matching pine furniture and doors offer all of the modern facilities within a traditional design. Some famous people have reputedly stayed at the Cott, including King Charles I, William Prince of Orange and Daniel Defoe, to name but a few. The Cott first opened to the public as an outlet for mead, ale, bacon and perry and today remains still very much as it was some 700 years ago. It is a gem in its own right and is probably one of the most photographed inns in the country and possibly the world. I am sure you will be delighted with your visit to the Cott Inn: our Head Chef Neil Pinkney, is a master of the culinary arts and I am certain you will be delighted with the cuisine he serves. He reputedly serves what is probably the best carvery in the area. We now also have a new Chef, James, who is bringing another dimension to the food at the Cott Inn. He has an excellent reputation and has worked at some excellent establishments including the Palace Hotel, Torquay and the Imperial Hotel, Torquay and he also served on the QE2. We can arrange collection of guests from any airport, railway or coach station at very competitive rates. Exeter Airport: 30-00 single or 50-00 return and London Heathrow: 150-00 single or 250-00 return. These are just two examples and other destinations are available on request. Drives can also be arranged on a mileage or set fee. The Cott Inn also caters for weddings, parties and private dinner functions.
