THE RESTAURANT Our Restaurant occupies a major part of the original Principle house built in the 17th century. The 60 cover oak-beamed restaurant, lit by candle light in the evenings, retains many of its original features. Where possible, locally produced foods are used in all of our dishes. Diners can choose from a varied range of English and French cuisine, which is complemented by a wine list of fifty carefully, selected wines. THE BAR Boasting one of the largest walk-in fireplaces and open bread ovens, the bar has been carefully modernised to retain the traditional ‘Old Inn’ atmosphere. With its original oak beams, imposing fireplace and natural slate and wood floor, the bar offers a comfortable setting for a quiet drink and a wide range of fireside meals. Beer garden and extensive landscaped grounds are open all to guests. WEDDINGS Picturesque grounds and luxury accommodation create an idyllic venue for wedding receptions and private functions. With a choice between the 17th century restaurant and the elegant banqueting suite, wedding receptions are tailored to your requirements. Your wedding is unique and our professional and committed staff will help and advice on all aspects of you’re wedding and make it a special day to remember. THE LOCAL AREA South Somerset’s scenery is incredibly diverse with over 1000 miles of right of way footpaths and trails across the county. There are huge contrasts from the flatlands of the Somerset Levels to the green hills and vales with their golden Ham Stone villages. Somerset is a magical county with bustling market towns, arts crafts and traditional inns serving fine local food and drink. It is also the Heart of the UK cider making capital. There is a wealth of wonderful churches, abbeys and houses, intriguing Follies and classic gardens as well as the opportunity to explore the unspoilt countryside by foot, bicycle or horseback. Visit the dramatic Jurassic Coast, Exmoor National Park and Ham Hill Country Parkland and quarry. There are many local attractions and activities including museums, theaters, fishing, five golf courses, racecourse, and Cricket ground at the nearby county town of Taunton. Antique shopping can be found in Honiton, one of the renowned antique centers in the UK. Explore the outstanding natural beauty of Cheddar Gorge & caves or the Liberty Trail. Come for a break at any time of the year and you will discover the Secret of South Somerset". CONFERENCE CENTER The Hollies Conference Center is Yeovil’s premier venue

The Residence began life in 1796 as Ormond Lodge, part of a local estate. During its existence, it has reputedly been one of the homes of exiled Emperor Haile Selassie during the 1930s. Begin the day in the kitchen, where you watch the chef prepare your breakfast. Using organic, locally sourced ingredients you are free to bend the advertised times and enjoy it whenever you want to. Snacks can be prepared for you whenever you desire them - Dom Perignon and chips at 03:00 will be no problem at all! Alternatively, The Residence enjoys links with several of the city's top restaurants, who be able to deliver a meal directly to you. Several public rooms await you, including a very traditional library, where deep red walls and dark mahogany furniture complement oak floors. Lots of books, an internet access point, sofas, desk, study table and chairs and sumptuous soft furnishings are all on hand. The Dining Room is dominated by a central 12 seat dining table designed by retro-antique-salvage artist Rod Donaldson. Perfect for a business meal, a party or a very big table for two. The Conservatory operates as a bar and occasional brunch room. When the weather is right sun streams into this stunning area, which seats 24 as a bar or 14 as a meeting room. Full audio-visual equipment, including a giant pull down screen and sound system, as well as a heated paved outside deck for the warmer times. The garden is also available with its beautiful Italianate terrace with boule piste, croquet lawn, 2 fountains and a stunning summer house, which offers a cosy escape from the world.
